FOCAL is in a unique position to further a love of literature
in all the children of Los Angeles. As the Friends support group
of the Children’s Literature Department of the Central Library
we are able to concentrate our efforts specifically in the area
of children’s literature. Our members come from throughout
Southern California and further north and include librarians,
educators, authors, illustrators, and people who are passionate
about connecting children with great children’s literature.
Many of them belong to their local branch library’s Friends
groups as well. The Central Library serves the entire city of
Los Angeles and the Children’s Literature Department serves
all the children of Los Angeles. Join us in supporting this worthwhile
cause.
